gosh. my nose feels so heavy. i'll be getting back my contacts next week. x) today was tiring la. how can any school make students start the day by seating in the assembly plaza. what wrong have we done. fine. maybe IN THE PAST we stayed in class and talk, but at least its something useful. i mean we get to know each other better by communicating. what purpose do they have. we can't talk and still fail to complete the given the assignment. wth. I WANNA DO WELL FOR FYE! random man.
TODAY, I WOULD FEATURE : FLOWERS FOR ALGERNON
it is basically a story about this retarded guy named charlie gordon. he has a IQ of 68 and underwent an operation. he became really smart and could even speak multiple languages. we see the entire story in a diary entry and it reflects his innermost thoughts and feelings. being retarded, charlie gordon reports his innermost thoughts and feeling
verbatim. well, a retarded would certainly do that. we are able to see life through this retard's life and the extremely true fact is that charlie gordon dose not lie. a retard cant already think properly and what more, think of lies to tell. charlie gordon perceptions are most of the time accurate due to his innocence. through this entire diary entry, we are able to see charlie gordan's progress through his spelling, grammar, punctuation and most importanty content. charlie gordon initially do not question. after the operation, he progressed and learnt. perhaps, questioning is a sign of intelligence. so the next time someone ask you something, maybe even somthing stupid, that person would not exactly be stupid as they are smart enough to question. charlie has also progressed to feel feelings such as embarassment and anger. this story, FLOWERS FOR ALGERNON, also depict the role of authority figures and if they have the right characters. it also touches on science. it makes us ponder if it is right to tamper with god's creation. last of all, ignorance is bliss. charlie gordon was much better off being a retard. when he was a retard, he was unable to see the various things around him, unable to see the sad truths of life. the truth hurts and living in a fool's world is paradise.
